Beyond Our Borders

The love of Christ draws us toward people whose lives may look different from our own, yet whose longing for hope, belonging and care is familiar.

Beyond our neighborhoods and across the nations, we encounter families raising children, believers gathering to worship, caregivers pouring themselves out for others, and faithful servants carrying the gospel into their communities.

Through relationships with trusted ministry partners, we come alongside those who are serving within their own nations.

We listen, learn, pray and respond—honoring their knowledge of the people and communities entrusted to their care.

A nation can seem far away until you sit with its people.

Then the distance becomes personal. A shared meal, a time of worship, a conversation or an invitation to pray helps us recognize the family of God beyond the places we call home.

Our experiences in India have deepened that understanding. We have encountered believers whose faith is woven into daily life and ministry partners who faithfully care for people through circumstances that require perseverance, wisdom and love.

We have shared time with children and their caregivers, visited communities affected by leprosy, gathered with believers in homes, and witnessed the needs of widows and families working toward greater stability.

Each encounter reminds us that people bring far more than their needs. They bring stories, gifts, relationships, faith and the capacity to contribute to the lives of others.

We go with something to offer—and with much to receive.

The love of Christ becomes tangible through a thoughtful response.

In India, that has included helping provide rice for households, wheelchairs for people with limited mobility, and support toward completing homes for families and widows. It has also meant standing alongside those who nurture children, care for vulnerable neighbors and encourage believers through local fellowships.

A wheelchair can make daily movement easier. Food can ease the pressure on a household. Help with a home can support safety and stability.

Alongside these practical expressions are prayer, encouragement and time spent together. We value opportunities to strengthen the people who continue serving long after a visit has ended.

India is one expression of a wider heart for the nations.

As God opens doors, we desire to build and nurture relationships with believers and ministries beyond the United States—coming alongside the work already taking place and discerning how we can serve together.

The needs and opportunities will differ from one nation to another. Our posture remains the same: listen carefully, honor people, strengthen local relationships and respond with the resources God entrusts to us.

We believe the Body of Christ is connected across borders. Through prayer, generosity, encouragement and personal presence, we can participate in one another’s work and share in the care of people we may never meet.

Some of the people and ministries we walk alongside serve in circumstances where public attention can create difficulty or risk.

For that reason, some stories are shared without names, precise locations, recognizable photographs or identifying details. We seek permission before sharing personal stories and images, and we respect our partners’ guidance about what is appropriate to make public.

Every story belongs first to the person who has lived it. Their dignity, privacy and safety matter more than the detail we might wish to share.

Even when a name remains unspoken, we can honor the faithfulness of those who serve and invite others to stand with them.

You do not have to travel to another nation to participate in its story.

You can pray for those carrying the gospel and caring for their neighbors. You can give toward practical needs.

You can encourage the people who serve and help strengthen the work entrusted to them.

Through Beyond Our Walls, we invite you to share in these relationships and expressions of compassion—trusting that what is placed in God’s hands can become provision, encouragement and hope in the life of another.

From the community around us to the nations beyond us, we desire to carry His love wherever He leads.
